New Historical Doll

I think all the ideas for new historical dolls are awesome! I've been thinking about a 1960's doll, too, ever since I got the Hippie Halloween costume. :>)
I think an Asian doll living in San Francisco during the late nineteenth century would be cool, too.
What I'd really like to see--and I know there are a few others with interest in this--is a Hawaiian doll. I think it would be awesome if she was somehow involved in the court of the last Hawaiian queen, and there's this tension between the Americans and the Natives and how the girl would adjust to everything.

I think a 50's or 60's girl would be cute!

I totally agree with Ionuin. An asian doll from the California gold rush period would be very cool.

I also think it would be fun to have a 1980s doll who has parents from the 1960s. Think a young, female-type Alex P. Keaton whose parents were these hippies who lived in a van, went to Woodstock, marched on Washington, etc. The AG girl would be ultra-conservative (I read this is the only generation to be more politically conservative than their parents) who loves math and science and dreams of going to space camp and being an engineer later. She's super smart and hates the fact that she has to take art and PE in school.

They should really, really, really make a black 1960's girl, tied in with the whole civil rights movement. I would LOVE to see her with little braided pig-tails, and having a collection of really cute clothes like the little girl Inez wore in the movie Hairspray.And about an Asian doll--TONS of Chinese came to America in the late, late 1800's. Many of them settled in San Francisco. And alot of them worked in laundrys. I think an Asian girl living in 1890's San Francisco would be perfect. As for a 1950's doll, im not sure if there would ever be one, because nothing was really going down in 1950's America. Rock and Roll came about then, though...

A Creole girl from 1804!!!! (anybody getting tired of that yet? [img]biggrin.gif[/img] )The possiblities with this character are endless.

With all that's happened to my poor state since August 29th, a Creole girl would be wonderful. The storms affected the area where she could have lived. Or, they can put her on a cotton plantation up towards where I am. 1804 was a year of great change for Louisiana and for the US and the world. Napoleon, the Louisiana Purchase, yellow fever epidemics, presidential dissent, etc. It's absolutely fascinating and a completely overlooked and ignored time period in American history. And one that was absolutely crucial in developing the identity of a young and growing nation.

And I can't think of any better way to help the rest of the country see why we Louisianians love our state so much and absolutely refuse to let something like a hurricane destroying a third of our state budget beat us down.
